Beatitudes Part 8: Blessed are the Persecuted

Today, as we begin the Advent season, we a re finishing up series on the Beatitudes. I hope you’ve enjoyed them. The other messages deal with the ingredients of Christian character. This last one talks about the mistreatment the Christian can expect. Blessed Peace - Beatitudes 7

B lessed are the Peacemakers Matthew 5:9 : Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Peacemaking is an attitude and an action; an inner state and an outer-state. It is not passive. The message of peace is the message of the gospel; people find peace with God, peace within themselves, peace with others around them. Thus they are called children of God. ( Myron S. Augsburger ) Peace in three directions.  Peace With God: All of us need to make peace with God. Sometimes people will speak of making peace with God jsut before they die. But peace with God is more than that. It is being in relationship with Him, now.  And this peace we do not have the ability to make. God has made His peace possible to us through Jesus.
